5 Easy Ways you can Save the Planet without Being a Superhero

Did you know that the simple act of waking up every morning and breathing fresh air is nothing short of a miracle? That’s because you happen to live on the single most unique planet in the entire solar system. After decades of space exploration, Earth still stands as the only planet every recorded with an atmosphere capable of sustaining complex and intelligent life. It’s the only planet with liquid water, its size and accompanying moon prevent catastrophic weather conditions, and it’s even shielded from asteroids an! d debris by larger planets like Jupiter. Humanity couldn’t possibly have chosen a more perfect place to exist and evolve. Unfortunately, our beautiful home is vulnerable to permanent annihilation from human pollution.

Every day should be Earth Day:
As the world commemorates Earth Day on April 22nd, every person should pause and take a moment to reflect on how important it is to conserve our planet. Earth Day is an annual global awareness campaign which seeks to call attention to environmental conservation through political action and civic participation. Simply put, it’s a day for everyone to take initiative and do something concrete to help improve and protect the planet we all call home. There are many different ways to participate meaningfully in environmental conservation! , especially if you own or operate a vehicle regularly. In fact, one of the most prominent threats to Earth’s survival happens to be car pollution. This means that if every single car owner on the planet did something small to practice responsible ownership of their vehicle, progress would actually be made to change things for the better. Here are a few tips on how to protect the planet by reducing car pollution:

1. Service Your Vehicle:
Servicing your vehicle regularly not only keeps it working in peak condition, it also reduces the amount of exhaust and toxic waste produced through driving. The longer you operate your vehicle without routine servicing, the more smog and spent fluids your car will churn into the environment.

  2. Control Your Gas:
Petroleum has a very low boiling point, which means it evaporates rapidly into the air at room temperature. Try as much as you can to fill your tank during colder times of the day to diminish such evaporation.

3. Take Care of Your Tires:
Proper tire pressure is essential for even distribution of weight on a vehicle. If your tires are inflated unevenly, it forces your engine to exert itself extremely and release excess smog into the atmosphere.

4. Drive Less:
Before hopping into your car to take a journey, always ask yourself it’s actually necessary to drive, or if you can make it to your destination without using a car. Activities such as cycling and walking not only prevent vehicle emissions, they help keep fit.

5. Ditch the Clunkers:
If you drive an old vehicle, chances are you’re polluting much more than you should be. Older cars tend not to be energy-efficient or environmentally-friendly. Upgrading your car is a good way to mix things up while also doing something good for the planet.

Every person deserves to take pride in where they live. But this can only happen if each one of us pledges to conserve and protect our planet out of love. No matter how small the gesture might seem, every little thing you do to pr! event or reverse pollution makes a difference. So if you haven’t already, start doing something good for the planet today – and every day.
